An open letter to all residents of The Gap

The character and lifestyle of The Gap is under serious threat. The Brisbane City Council (BCC) is proposing to seal and upgrade Gap Creek Road, the partly unsealed road that passes to the west of Mt. Cootha connecting the suburbs of Kenmore and The Gap.

A recent article from the North West News refers to the “…BCC plan for the area”, however, Cr. Ann Bennison (Enoggera) says that the State Government will determine what form the transport corridor should take!

 

GCA members say no to Gap Creek Road upgrade

The Gap Community Association recently canvassed the 36 GCA members who have email addresses, to gauge their views on an upgrade, or otherwise of Gap Creek Road.
The results were as follows:

# emails sent out: 36
# replies received: 23 (64%)
Against an upgrade: 20 (87%)
Unqualified support for an upgrade: 1 (4%)
Qualified support for an [...]
