- The Gap Community Association Inc. (GCA) has just been awarded $2000 from the BCC under the Council’s ‘Ward Community & Parks Development Fund’. Thank you to Cr Geraldine Knapp for her assistance with obtaining the grant.
- GCA has made a booking to host a stall at The Gap Business, Trade & Community Expo on Thursday, June 29 at The Gap High School’s J. A. Robertson Hall. We encourage Gap residents to visit this Expo and our stall.
- Is your school having a fête soon? Please let us know. GCA would love to have a stall there. Phone Jennifer Batycki on 0416 275 883.
- GCA has formed a sub-committee to renew our focus on establishing a Community & Youth Centre at The Gap. We make no secret of the fact we believe the best venue for this facility would be at The Gap Soccer Club. This precinct - owned by the BCC - should be much better utilised to provide a range of community facilities, and not just soccer, a bar and poker machines. This ideal, central location in the heart of The Gap can surely provide more value for money for local ratepayers.
- This month sees the first of our quarterly articles we are now trialling in The Western Echo. We would appreciate any community feedback on what we are up to and the opinions we make. Phone Andrew McMicking on 0439 554 072.
