Gap Creek Road concerns

A recent article from the North West News refers to the “…BCC plan for the area”, however, Cr. Ann Bennison (Enoggera) says that the State Government will determine what form the transport corridor should take!

This statement tends to confirm the long held view by many that the BCC and the State Government are in fact working together over the Brisbane Western Transport route with even more likelihood that Gap Creek/Dillon Roads will become the missing link in that part of the western bypass route between The Gap and Kenmore.

The final piece in the jigsaw would be a bridge to replace the Moggill ferry and “hey presto” a Motorway through The Gap, Kenmore and Brookfield linking Toowoomba and the rapidly growing Ipswich area and Logan Motorways to the Bruce Highway at Carseldine.

In the view of the Gap Community Association and the overwhelming majority of its members, there should be no decision on an upgrading of Gap Creek Road until the results of the current $10m State Government Western Brisbane Transport Infrastructure Study is completed. To do otherwise would be to absolutely pre-empt the findings of that study.
