Gap Creek Road Survey results

As you are probably aware, the Gap Community Association (GCA) distributed two surveys to residents of The Gap just prior to Christmas 2006.

One survey canvassed residents views on Brisbane City Council’s proposal to upgrade Gap Creek/Dillon Roads, whilst the other ‘general’ survey focussed on a number of other topical issues impacting on our suburb.

The analysis of responses to the general survey is continuing and will take a little more time to conclude as it invited responses on eight separate issues, however, counting of responses to the Gap Creek Road Survey were finalised today.

The responses to the question of upgrading Gap Creek/Dillon Roads are as follows:

  • In favour – 403 (30%)
  • Opposing – 946 (70%)

The GCA regards the number of responses received as well as the final count result as a definitive statement of opposition to the upgrading of Gap Creek/Dillon Roads by Gap residents and will be considering our future course of action at the next Committee Meeting to be held on Monday, 27th February at a location to be advised.

Please note the date in your diary and plan to come along to the next meeting to debate this issue that is critical to the future of The Gap.
