GCA wishlist prior to forthcoming state election
The issue of most concern to the GCA and local residents is the spectre of a Western Bypass Motorway passing through the heart of The Gap to the east of Enoggera Reservoir.
For this reason the GCA would welcome Government ’shelving’ the $5m plan to upgrade Gap Creek and Dillon Roads until such time as the $10m Western Brisbane Transport Network Investigation is concluded.
If the Investigation establishes the need for a Western Bypass to the west of the Enoggera Reservoir then that would be an appropriate time for an upgrade of Gap Creek/Dillon Roads as a local suburban access road with adequate speed and load limitations.
To proceed with the plan at this time will be to create a Western Bypass by default.
