General Business

  • Christine Lewis mentioned the need to update and review content in the association brochure. In the past when a community survey was run by the association in The Gap Shopping Centre a pinboard displaying information about the Association proved helpful in raising profile.
  • Christine pointed out the need for the association to look forward and focus on future directions.
  • Main focus has been the Western Bypass and now the association needs to move on the other projects such as Community centre and Festival.
  • Christine Lewis gave the example of Youth Week and the associations past involvement in weeks such as this. Christine offered to do some preliminary sounding out by looking into funding submissions and applications.
  • Association introduction day at The Gap Shopping Centre. A suggestion was made to invite guest speakers such as Andrew White form S.O.W.N.
  • What’s happening with the building behind the shops on Payne Road?
  • Has the Pony Club renewed their lease of the site between Payne Road & Yooralla Street? No, the Pony Club has decided not to renew the lease. Maybe Councillor Knapp can elaborate on this in a future meeting?
  • Comment on white lines on intersection of lllowra Street, D’Aguilar Road & School Road
  • Samford Road upgrade
  • Discussion on major road upgrade at Carseldine on the north side. What’s happening out there?
