Police concern over soda bombs

Snr Sgt Andy Graham again attended the Gap Community Association’s monthly meeting last night to report on local policing issues. He also brought along and introduced the new Superintendent of the Brisbane West Police District, Peter Martin, and Gap Police Constable Deb Dahl, who is now The Gap Division’s Crime Prevention Officer.

A paticular issue brought to our attention was that of ’soda bombs’. In recent days, gangs of youths have been letting off bombs at various locations throughout The Gap. There were two explosions on Saturday around midnight in the Hilder Rd vicinity.

The explosion of these bombs poses a serious threat of injury or even death to local residents, not to mention the damage to local property. Police are actively pursuing this issue.

The Westside News will also report on this issue in their edition this week. If anyone out there has any information about soda bombs at The Gap, or the people behind them, please contact Snr Sgt Andy Graham ASAP on 3511 0763.
