I was so very interested to see your ill informed support of having 3 tunnels emanating from Toowong.
How do you suppose the people of Toowong will breathe given that we will have 3 chimney stacks pumping out unfiltered, yes unfiltered, emissions form the equivalent of half the length of all these tunnels.
Maybe they won’t put all the emissions in our area, maybe they’ll dose up some areas in the middle to distribute the concentrations over wider Brisbane, be careful what you wish for.
We will certainly be opposing any further emission stacks in Toowong.
As a community group you should respond to things that are of detriment to your community, not proactively seek to push things into other peoples areas.
The NIMBY approach does not sit well with greater Brisbane residents, hence the lack of support from the wider community against the sealing of Gap Creek Road. One day The Gap will undoubtedly face bigger and new major arterials through it and I can only hope that when they do, that you don’t find yourselves reading ill informed support from other communities supporting it, so it doesn’t end up in their back yard.
